Right-hander Michael Fulmer and left-hander Daniel Norris combined for five scoreless innings, leading the Tigers (9-5) to a 5-1 win against the Chicago White Sox .
The win is the Tigers' fourth straight, and seventh in 10 tries, pushing them into a tie with the Minnesota Twins (10-6) for first place in the division with 46 games remaining this season.
Though the White Sox were able to get a run back in the seventh, relievers Gregory Soto and Bryan Garcia finished without further trouble.
Recovering from Tommy John surgery that forced him to miss the entire 2019 season, Fulmer seemed to have taken a step forward in his comfortability on the mound.
Tigers shortstop Niko Goodrum singles against White Sox pitcher Dallas Keuchel during the first inning at Comerica Park on Monday, August 10, 2020.
The Tigers are continuing forward without set-up man Buck Farmer, who went to the 10-day injured list before Monday's game with a left groin strain.
