Krispy Kreme is celebrating its 83rd birthday on Friday by giving away a free dozen of its original glazed doughnuts at participating locations across the country.

To receive the free doughnuts, however, you first must purchase any dozen of your choosing.

Krispy Kreme has New Jersey shops in Collingswood, Springfield, East Rutherford and Jersey City, and all four locations are participating in the birthday deal promotion.

Krispy Kreme dining areas are temporarily closed in New Jersey due to the coronavirus pandemic.
