Fans are most excited about two standouts from 2019 who still have yet to turn 21: 19-year-old forward Jesus Ferreira, who received his first U.S. men’s national team cap just weeks ago, and 20-year-old midfielder Paxton Pomykal, working to recover from a core injury in time to start the season.

Argentine forward Franco Jara, who has been a standout for Mexican side Pachuca since 2015, will grab a Designated Player spot when he comes over in the secondary transfer window in July.

Perhaps he’ll boost FC Dallas a few rungs up from last year’s 7 th place finish — which earned them a memorable one-and-done playoff match against the eventual champs in Seattle.

• Thiago Santos, a Brazilian defensive midfielder who previously played at Palmeiras, is a TAM find who was signed in December and could help stabilize the middle of FC Dallas’s set-up.
