In the midst of a busy last week, the Jayhawks received some exciting news as five-star signee Bryce Thompson was named to the McDonald's All-American Game.
"At that point in time in their career, it’s as high an honor as you could possibly attain.
The guard grew and filled out over his high school career, and he also progressed in his point-guard skills and other abilities on the court.
70-ranked player in his class, and already with a KU offer, Thompson continued to progress over the spring and summer before his senior year.
"He showed the ability to be a point guard and then got taller, has gotten stronger and a lot of it is just natural progression — like nothing that out of the ordinary but it doesn’t always happen for every player.
The 6-5, 175-pound prospect will most likely join the Jayhawks in the summer as the latest McDonald's All-American to hop on board with the program since the Jayhawks added three out of high school ( Devon Dotson , Quentin Grimes , David McCormack ) in the 2018 class.
