Ex-Phillies ace Roy Halladay had morphine, Ambien in system when plane crashed ...


The Tampa Times reports former Phillies ace Roy Halladay died from "blunt force trauma with drowning as a contributing factor," according to the autopsy performed after his plane crash in November.


His blood-alcohol content level was 0.01, according to the toxicology results in the report released by the Pinellas-Pasco Medical Examiner's Office.


His body also had evidence of amphetamine, morphine and a drug typically used to treat insomnia.


Halladay spent four seasons with the Phillies, winning the NL Cy Young Award in 2010.


Halladay spent the first 12 years of his MLB career with the Toronto Blue Jays, winning the AL Cy Young Award in 2003.
