Live: Stephon Gilmore officially inactive due to concussion

Eric Rowe (groin), Dont’a Hightower (torn pec) and Malcom Brown (ankle) were ruled out Friday, and we blogged about Stephon Gilmore (concussion) earlier.

Bill Belichick told Scott Zolak on 98.5 The Sports Hub that he doesn’t anticipate Gilmore being ready in time for the game against the Chargers, which means he wasn’t able to get through the five-stage concussion protocol.

With the weather as a potential factor today, Tom Brady and Bill Belichick were both on the field three hours before kickoff, which is an extremely rare occurrence for home games.

The Patriots have already ruled out Dont’a Hightower (torn pec), Malcom Brown (ankle) and Eric Rowe (groin).

And then that player likely would have been released and exposed to waivers, either by Tuesday’s trade deadline or the following week with the presumed activation of Shea McClellin.
