Before new quarterback Mike Glennon completed his first pass in a Bears uniform Thursday night at Soldier Field, he threw an interception that the Broncos returned for a touchdown and an early lead.
The Bears started their night in a hole when Broncos cornerback Chris Harris Jr. intercepted Glennon’s throw intended for Zach Miller and returned it 50 yards for a touchdown.
The Bears defense committed penalties on four straight snaps on the Broncos’ next drive, which ended in Brandon McManus’ 38-yard field goal for a 10-0 Broncos lead.
That included a two-yard touchdown strike to Victor Cruz with 13 seconds to play in the first half to cut the Broncos’ lead to 10-7.
Trubisky completed five more passes for 50 yards on the second drive, and Benny Cunningham scored on a one-yard rush for the Bears’ lead.
