Sox reportedly close to dealing Robertson, Frazier, Kahnle to Yankees

According to Fox Sports’ Ken Rosenthal, the Yankees were close to acquiring not only Robertson but third baseman Todd Frazier and right-hander Tommy Kahnle in what would be the Sox’ second major deal for prospects in six days.

Frazier was announced as a Healthy Scratch a half hour before the game, raising speculation a trade could be imminent.

Frazier and Robertson sat next to each other having a quiet conversation in the Sox dugout during the first inning, perhaps knowing they were headed to the same team.

Frazier, who would presumably be used at first base by the Yankees, went through the Sox normal pregame routine of extensive handshakes and hugs.

Frazier hit 35 and 40 home runs in each of the last two seasons and entered Tuesday with a .207 batting average, 16 homers and 44 RBI.
