Having posted 170 on the board, the Kings XI Punjab were let down by their bowlers that included some very fine names like Mohit, Sandeep & Ishant Sharma, Axar Patel, Varun Aaron, Stoinis and Maxwell himself – yet to have lost with 3.3 overs to spare is a bit hit to Punjab’s thus far strengthened performance in the tournament.

Kings XI Punjab – the batsmen need to convert starts into big scores

The loss against KKR calls for some introspections from the team but they won’t be too let down because they still have 2 wins out of their 3 matches. 5 of Kings XI Punjab batsmen got over 20+ in their match against KKR but didn’t go on to post a big score – which was probably why they were at least 20-30 runs short in the match, which in the end massively impacted the result of the match. It’s probably a safe idea for Punjab to determine an anchor in the top order of their lineup (Amla for instance) to play full 20 overs and ensure runs keep flowing even if wickets are tumbling at the other end.

Kings XI Punjab will come into the match as favorites despite losing their last match. The overall strength of the side looks far stronger as opposed to DD – who won their last match but question marks remain on how consistent their local players can be.
