NordicTrack Commercial 1750 vs. NordicTrack Elite 3700

NordicTrack Commercial 1750 vs. Nordictrack Elite 3700 Comparison

NordicTrack Commercial 1750 and NordicTrack Elite 3700 are two treadmills that come from NordicTrack. The two treadmills have more or less similar features that can be a little confusing for those who are looking for a perfect treadmill for their home.

If you are looking for more information about the two, the following information can be useful to help you make your decision.

What Are The Similarities?

While coming from different lines (Commercial versus Elite), both of these two treadmills offers many similar sets of features.

Incline and Decline

One of them is the track’s incline/decline. The ability to angle the running track up to 15% incline or 3% decline can simulate the uphill or downhill running landscape for you. If you feel that the zero degrees horizontal running is not challenging enough, you can put the force of gravity to play by adding or subtracting few degrees from the track.

Dual AutoBreeze Fans

If you want to get more similar outdoor environment to your exercises,  you can turn on the dual AutoBreeze fans. Other than to keep your body temperature cool during your running, the fans can also produce gentle breeze like the one that you will have running outside in the open. You can control the fan speed to get the level of breeze that you like.

Running Speed

You can adjust the speed of your treadmill to fit your need from the brisk walks to the sprint. And with the maximum speed of 12 miles per hour, you can run as fast as you can without breaking the machine. The reason is because the maximum running speed of an average person is only around 6.5 to 8.5 miles per hour.

Easy Access Keys

Both the speed and incline feature can be adjusted easily from the Easy Access Speed/Incline Keys located in the hand grip. It means that you can quickly adjust these settings without taking your hands off the grips and interrupting your workout sessions.

Adjustable Cushion

Another adjustable aspect of both treadmills is the cushion. Both types are equipped with FlexSelect cushion customization. When the feature is active, the track will reduce the physical shock of exercise up to about 30%. Competitive runners who want to minimize injuries during training can benefit from the feature. But if you prefer the feeling of running on the hard asphalt, you can toggle the cushioning off.

Running Area Dimension

The 22 x 60 inches of running area is large enough for most people to have a comfortable running. And yet, those with limited space around their house don’t have to worry about sacrificing their valuable space for their exercises, because both NordicTrack Commercial 1750 and Elite 3700 come with SpaceSaver folding frame design and EasyLift Assist feature. It means that you can easily fold the treadmill and store it somewhere unobtrusive when you are not using it.

Speakers and Music

And to keep you entertained during the workouts, both treadmills are equipped with a pair of 3″ speakers and Intermix Acoustics audio center. You can connect virtually any music player that you have since the integrated entertainment system is compatible with iPod or any other media players.

Heart Rate Monitor

Another thing that you can do is to keep your health condition in check during the running. These two machines come with wireless chest-strap heart rate monitor that you can use without the hassle of cables obstructing your running. To compliment the chest strap – and to make sure that the system gets the most accurate reading, both the Commercial 1750 and Elite 3700 also come with contact/grip sensor system.

Custom Workouts and iFit

Both machines come with iFit smart fitness program (registration required) to ensure that you get the optimal result from your training. The program includes quick and easy access to endless training opportunities directly on the treadmills, from custom-built workouts, automatic tracking, to running routes powered by Google Maps.

Generous Warranty

Both machines are protected with a lifetime warranty for the motor and the frame. There are also a 5-year warranty on the parts and electronics and a 2-year warranty on labor. This kind of warranty shows how confident is the manufacturer with the quality of its product.

What are The Differences?

While NordicTrack Commercial 1750 and NordicTrack Elite 3600 share several similarities, there are also differences between these two models.

Motor Power

Both machines come with drive motors, but they have different power. The 1750 model’s motor holds 3.8 HP while the 3700 model holds 3.5 HP. It means that 1750 model is slightly more powerful than its sibling.

Maximum Weight Capacity

NordicTrack Commercial 1750 is also more able to withstand more weight than the Elite 3700. The maximum weight capacity for 1750 is 400 lbs while the 3700 can only hold up to 375 lbs. Even though the difference is insignificant, those with huge built would want to choose the 1750 model just to be on the safe side.

Numbers of Workouts Programs

On the software front, the 1750 model has 40 built-in workouts programs along with the ability to save up to 30 workouts. All the programs are designed by certified personal trainers, ranging from speed training, interval training, calorie burn and heart rate control workouts. There are only 34 programs that come with the 3700 model.

Displays Differences

Another difference is in the display. The backlit LCD screen on the 3700 model is clearly less capable compared to the full-color, web-enabled, touchscreen display on the 1750 model. Not only this more advanced display can show your workout data, but it can also let you browse the web, catch up on your email, read the news, or even stay connected with friends on social media.

Which One is Right For You

Given the slight differences between the two models, it’s safe to say that you will get most features that you want whichever type you choose. However, if you have to choose, there are few things to consider.

First is your budget. These two machines are sold in various price ranges all across the retailers with a slightly higher price for the 1750 model. Unless you find a great deal for the 3700 model, it’s wiser to choose NordicTrack Commercial 1750 as it comes with more features and it’s also more capable machines while the price difference is not too significant.

Since the dimension and the weight of both devices are more or less the same, motor power and maximum weight capacity are the ones that we can compare. NordicTrack 1750 wins at both front, although with only a modest difference.

The deciding factor might be the display. Both models come with 7″ screen, but the web-enabled full-color touchscreen display on the Commercial 1750 is better than the backlit LCD screen on Elite 3700.

But whether you choose the 1750 or the 3700, you can be sure that you get a great treadmill and you are covered by the amazing warranty.
