Things to Do in Newquay – Why It’s The Perfect Place for a Hen Weekend
A Hen Weekend in Newquay can be fun, adventurous and something totally different…
A hen Weekend needs to be fun. A group of girls getting together to celebrate an upcoming marriage. But not all hen weekends have to be L plates, sashes and phallic-shaped straws. A hen weekend in Newquay can be fun, adventurous and something totally different. Whether you want to try your hand (or foot) at surfing, go coasteering, rent e-bikes and cycle along the Cornish Way Cycle Route or simply enjoy a walk on the beach with your best pals at sunset – there are plenty of things to do in Newquay. Planning a hen weekend can be difficult. Not only are there all the logistics of getting a group (safely) to a place, but you also want to make sure that everyone is having a good time. Coasteering is one of the best things to do in Newquay and is sure to bring out your adventurous side. Deep water cliff jumps, climbing over rocks, wild swimming and enjoying whirlpools are the best way to see the stunning Cornish coastline with your friends. Our instructors will take you through all the safety precautions before you journey along the coast and provide all the equipment you’ll need. The best bit about coasteering on a hen weekend? No one has to do anything they don’t want to! You can take it easy or really push yourself and your limits! BOOK HERE
Hire E-Bikes
One of the best ways to get around Cornwall is on bike – and Newquay is perfectly positioned for a day out exploring everything Cornwall has to offer on e-bike. Your hen party can rent e-bikes from Cornish Wave for a couple of hours or for the whole day. We’ll be happy to take you through how to ride an e-bike (no experience is needed) and we’ll show you our favourite routes. Pack up a picnic and head off to Porth Beach, Watergate Bay or even Crantock Beach to enjoy a day in the sand with your friends!
Beach Yoga
It might not be your classic hen party activity but it’s certainly one of the best things to do in Newquay. An early morning yoga session on one of Newquay’s beautiful beaches is the perfect way to start the day with your friends and stretch out before your surf lesson or coasteering class. Grab some breakfast afterwards and you’re ready for a day of fun!
Accommodation
Newquay is full of amazing BnBs and accommodation for your group to choose from. If you’re looking for something a little different, why not wild camp in our unique, private Cornish woodland site? There’s a large barn for socialising and enjoying a few drinks after a surf lesson and the shared canvas tents are comfortable and the perfect way to get a good night’s sleep before the next day’s adventures. There’s a campfire to enjoy as well as BBQs to cook on. Wild camping is a sure way to make your hen weekend truly memorable!
Night Out
Of course, at some point during your hen weekend, you might want to relax and have a few drinks with your friends. Luckily, not only does Newquay have loads to offer in terms of adventure and fun activities, but it’s also got amazing bars and restaurants. The Beach Bar on Fistral Beach is one of the best places to start as you watch the sun set over the Atlantic Ocean. There’s also The Red Lion which is a great, traditional pub just up the hill from the beach. They serve really good beer and food. Other bars include Sailors Pub, The Cribbar, Walkabout and Berties Nightclub.
Beaches (Of Course!)
Cornwall is famous for its stunning beaches in general and some of the best ones are in and around Newquay. With golden sand, turquoise waters and some of the most stunning scenery in the country, Cornwall attracts tourists from all over the country with its beaches. Of course, many come for the world-famous surf, but the beaches themselves are great for families, couples and, of course, hen parties. They’re perfect for sunbathing (weather dependent), swimming, playing and relaxing with friends.

As we said, planning a hen weekend isn’t always easy. So why not let us take part of the stress off you?
