MS Dhoni opened up on Ajinkya Rahane’s comeback after the CSK vs KKR match in the sixteenth edition of the Indian Premier League.

MS Dhoni was super happy with the way Ajinkya Rahane has been expressing himself with the bat. Ajinkya Rahane’s comeback is something that nobody expected in the first place.

Rahane silenced the critics by letting his bat do the talking in IPL 2023. Ajinkya Rahane has been in scintillating form this season. Notably, he has aggregated 209 runs at a staggering strike rate of 199.04.

It is worth mentioning that Ajinkya Rahane‘s strike rate is the highest for any batsman this season (who has essayed more than 100 runs). Rahane’s comeback has been one of the most beautiful tales of the IPL.

Ajinkya Rahane scored 71 off just 29 balls at a sensational strike rate of 244.83. He constructed his innings with the help of six fours and five hits over the fence.

MS Dhoni talks about Ajinkya Rahane’s comeback

Ajinkya Rahane was named the player of the match for his gritty knock. His knock powered Chennai Super Kings to 235/4 in their quota of 20 overs.

In response, KKR were reduced to 186/8 in 20 overs. Chennai Super Kings won the game by 49 runs. Rightly so, they went on top of the IPL 2023 points table.

Meanwhile, MS Dhoni, after the game, opened up on Rahane’s comeback at the post-match presentation. Rahane’s strike rate has been really impressive this season.

“What is also important is a lot of time when you realise the potential of someone, you let him bat the way he bats. Give that liberty and just reiterate what are the areas where your strengths are and be positive and enjoy.

“I feel it always works out in the best possible manner,” Dhoni said in the post-match presentation. Ajinkya Rahane will be looking forward to sticking to the same form in the upcoming games.

“The second thing is to try to give him the best position where he can score runs. If you put too many players out of position, they might find it slightly difficult. But someone has to sacrifice their slot so that the players are able to play in their slot comfortably,” MS Dhoni added.
