He said: “The truth is that I am very happy at the club, I try not to think about the future. I know there’s a lot of talks and I think it’s normal after winning the World Cup.”
“Already, in the January market, there was a lot of talks, but I’m very calm. I focus on playing, on training every day, on continuing to improve.”
Liverpool have suffered in the middle of the part this season. Almost all of the Merseyside outfit’s senior midfielders have struggled with injuries and consistency so far.
Naby Keita, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, and James Milner are also expected to leave the club upon the expiration of their contracts at the end of the current campaign. Jurgen Klopp is likely to bolster the position during the next window, with Alexis Mac Allister among his top targets.
Manchester United have also shown interest in signing the Argentina international in recent months. According to reliable transfer journalist Fabrizio Romano, both clubs will approach Brighton over his transfer in the coming weeks.
