WATCH: Shaquille O’Neal Explains why he hates Nike’s Michael Jordan Shoes

The arrival of Michael Jordan at Nike and the release of the “Air Jordan 1” afterward were turning points in the history of the shoe business. Even though players like Magic Johnson, Larry Bird, and Julius Erving liked Converse, Jordan’s shoes were soon able to take over as the most popular brand of basketball performance shoes.

Jordan shoe styles like the 1s, 4s, and 11s are some of the most popular in the streetwear culture of today. Despite this, the hardwood of the NBA has always been where they were supposed to perform.

Even though it has a fantastic style, the Air Jordan 1 was a high-performance sneaker that Michael Jordan wore during his rookie season, when he set numerous scoring records and averaged more than 28 points per game.

He said that wearing the 1s hurt his foot and that his sock was “soaked in blood” at his last game as a Bull at Madison Square Garden in 1998. Jordan’s final game was played at Madison Square Garden. The level of discomfort that they caused Shaquille O’Neal during his attempts to wear them was comparable.

Why Shaquille O’Neal will not play in the NBA while wearing Air Jordans
The size 22 shoe is what Shaquille O’Neal typically wears. It shouldn’t come as a surprise that it’s difficult to find shoes that are sized appropriately for “The Big Aristotle.” Even though he has his own brand of Shaq trainers, Shaquille O’Neal still enjoys wearing footwear that was designed by other athletes on occasion.

He did it while wearing Jordan 1s, and the memory of the event will be with him for the rest of his life. He continued by stating that he had corn on his feet because he had worn a size that was smaller than what was recommended for the Michael Jordan trainers he was wearing. But over the years, a lot of customers have complained about how rude 1S is.

When I first tried them on, my feet hurt as I walked to school in the morning. When I last owned a pair of Jordans, it was back in that period. The Lakers great claimed that the shoes in question were to blame for the corns on his feet.

Before Shaquille O’Neal inked a contract with Reebok, he was already the owner of his own shoe company. The “Dunkman” logo was modelled after Michael Jordan’s “Jumpman” insignia, which served as the source of inspiration. But he made all of the necessary adjustments after learning from a mother on the street that the price of his shoes was too high for her to consider purchasing them for her children.

Shaq violated his contract with Reebok, which was worth $57 million, by designing a line of low-cost sneakers with an average price of $30 that are offered at Walmart. These shoes can be purchased there. So far, he has made millions of dollars off the sale of shoes.
