IND vs AUS: Rohit Sharma Gives An Epic Reply To Australian Media’s ‘Doctored Pitch’ Charge

IND vs AUS: The upcoming Border Gavaskar Trophy Series is less than a day away from getting started. The first Test will kick off at VCA Stadium in Nagpur on February 9 (Thursday).

It will be quite interesting to see how the two powerhouses battle each other in the Test series. Australia are the table toppers of the second cycle of the ICC World Test Championship.

On the other side of the coin, Team India are second on the table. It is no secret that India will enter the series as the strong favourites given the venues.

They will have to win the series by an optimal margin to secure a spot in the second cycle of the ICC World Test Championship final.

IND vs AUS, Rohit Sharma

The last time when Australia toured India was back in 2017, they won the first Test against India. However, they went on to lose the series by 2-1.

Notably, Team India won the last three Test series against the Aussies in a row. They will be looking forward to clinching yet another series as well.

IND vs AUS: Rohit Sharma reacts to Australian media’s doctored pitch charge

The BGT series hasn’t even started and meanwhile, Australian reporters and former cricketers reckon that India are preparing the pitch quite differently.

Rohit Sharma addressed the reporters ahead of the Nagpur Test. He was asked this question and to which, the skipper came up with an epic reply.

Indian captain Rohit Sharma is not really worried by the ‘doctored pitch’ accusations from Australian media ahead of the Test series opener.

The Indian captain stressed the fact that the complete focus should be on the match and not on the pitch. His response has gone viral on social media.

“Just focus on cricket and not the pitch. After all the 22 guys out there are all quality players,” Rohit Sharma said in reply to the question.

“It is important to have a plan and figure a way. Everyone has a different method. Some like to sweep some reverse, some hit over the bowler. You need to rotate the strike and sometimes you need to counterattack,” Rohit added.

“We have four solid test matches to play in the BGT and we would want to win the series. It is going to be a challenging series and we have to be up for it. Preparation is the key. If you prepare well, you get results,” Rohit said.
