Daniel Ricciardo Excites Fans With His Recent Announcement as Christian Horner Shuns the Hopes of Having a Full-Time Seat

Daniel Ricciardo made a suggestion that although he would not be competing, fans could catch him behind the wheel of Red Bull’s RB19 during the 2018 Formula 1 season.

Daniel Ricciardo will be the third driver on the squad and the reserve driver, whose responsibilities often don’t have anything to do with racing. In an interview with Sky Sports during the introduction of Red Bull’s RB19, their 2023 rival, Ricciardo was questioned about if he will be using the vehicle at some stage in the upcoming season. He said he “may” climb in the driver’s seat.

“Perhaps a test of tires or something. I might get in the driver’s seat.”

There weren’t many possibilities left for Daniel Ricciardo once his contract with McLaren expired after the 2022 season, or at least not as many as he had planned. Daniel Ricciardo chose to join a stronger squad over downgrading, which is why.

With the signing of eight-time Grand Prix champion Daniel Ricciardo to their squad. Red Bull team principal Christian Horner said that they had the greatest roster on the field. For the F1 2023 season, the Australian has joined the squad as a reserve and simulator driver.

Red Bull declared that they were bringing him back into the squad as a reserve driver after he lost his permanent spot. Although he won’t be guaranteed to compete in any of the races as a result of this. There is a fair likelihood that he will get the opportunity to test drive the vehicle in a practice session.

Will Daniel Ricciardo’s second stint at Red Bull provide him with enough opportunities?

The Australian could have an opportunity to work as an analyst with them, the Sky Sports interviewer added. “If Ricciardo isn’t competing, perhaps he can be on Sky Sports F1 instead. They’ll like his analyses throughout the year, I have no doubt.”

Red Bull employed Daniel Ricciardo up to the end of the 2018 racing season. Max Verstappen left the team to race with Renault due to escalating conflicts at the time. Since then, though, his career has not fared as well. For his racing career, going back to the Milton Keynes-based team would be a sensible choice.

Daniel Ricciardo previously said that with the team, he will receive a lot of training behind the simulator and during testing as a backup driver.

Verstappen and Sergio Perez are the team’s current admirable pairing. It is thus difficult to predict if they will push for a change to offer Ricciardo a second-driver designation any time soon.

However, if Daniel Ricciardo’s performance at Red Bull (during testing sessions or even a few opportunities to race) is strong. He may have a chance to join a more competitive team.
