The Indian Premier League is going to start in around two months time. Ahead of it’s starting, Viacom18 Sports announced its goal of becoming India’s largest audience aggregator.

Anil Jayaraj, CEO of Viacom18 Sports, stated at a media round table that the company intends to remove all obstacles to consumption, including affordability and language.

IPL 2022 season saw a drop in TV viewership, primarily due to migration to OTT and viewer fatigue as more matches were added. The same was the case with FIFA World Cup 2022.

Jayaraj expects that IPL 2023 advertising revenues on digital will surpass those on television this year. JioCinema will stream the league in 12 different languages, with free accessibility to the viewers.
