The former heavyweight boxing champion Mike Tyson was accused of raping a lady in the early 1990s in a complaint that was filed in Albany, New York, this month. The alleged incident occurred at some point in the early 1990s.

The woman is suing Tyson for $5 million, claiming that he sexually assaulted her in a limo after they had first met at a nightclub in Albany and that she has suffered “physical, psychological, and emotional injury” as a result of the incident as well as the years that have passed since then.

The woman just indicates in her statement that the assault occurred in the early 1990s. This is roughly the same time period that Desiree Washington, a finalist in a beauty pageant, claimed that Mike Tyson had sexually attacked her in Indianapolis. Tyson was found guilty of raping Washington on February 10, 1992, and he was sentenced to three years in prison as a result of his conviction.

The legal action was taken in New York because of the Adult Survivors Act of that state, which allows victims of sexual assault to bring lawsuits for offences that occurred years or even decades ago. This law is the basis for why the legal action was brought in New York.

The woman stated in her statement that as soon as she boarded Mike Tyson’s vehicle, the boxer groped her and attempted to kiss her. This is what she said happened.

The woman explained, “I told him no multiple times and asked him to stop, but he continued to abuse me.” “He even threatened to kill me.” After tearing my pants off, he proceeded to sexually assault me in a brutal manner.

According to the woman, revealing her true identity “would undoubtedly constitute a risk to me of further mental agony, harassment, humiliation, or personal disgrace,” which is why the lady is making an effort to conceal her identity.

Darren Seilback, the lady’s attorney, stated in a subsequent document that his firm did not simply take the woman at her word but instead investigated her claims and decided that they were “quite reasonable.” This was in response to a question that was posed by the judge.

Seilback Indicated That He Was Unable to Make Any Further Statements in Relation to the Situation

On Tuesday, Seilback indicated that he was unable to make any further statements in relation to the situation since he was prohibited from doing so.

An organisation that has in the past represented Mike Tyson was called to see if they could get him to comment on the situation.

Tyson, who was born and raised in Brooklyn and is now 56 years old, was lauded for his reign as the undisputed heavyweight champion from 1987 to 1990, but his life away from the ring has been fraught with difficulty.

The actor Robin Givens, who was previously married to Mike Tyson and filed for divorce in the late 1980s, claimed in the paperwork that their marriage was marked by “unprovoked rages of violence and devastation.”
