Liverpool Plot Summer Move for Mason Mount

Liverpool are interested in signing Chelsea star Mason Mount during the summer transfer window. The England international is among the most talented English midfielders of his generation.

Mason Mount has established himself among the key players for Chelsea since breaking into the senior team during the 2019-20 season. He has played 186 games for the London outfit so far, registering 33 goals and 37 assists.

The 24-year-old midfielder helped the Blues win one UEFA Champions League trophy, among other honours. Mason Mount won the Chelsea Player of the Season twice. He is also a key member of England’s senior squad. The Portsmouth-born midfielder has represented the Three Lions 36 times since making his debut in 2019.

Liverpool tracking Mason Mount

According to the Guardian(via Sportskeeda), Liverpool are monitoring Chelsea midfielder, Mason Mount. They are likely to make a bid to sign him during the summer transfer window.

Mason Mount’s contract at Stamford Bridge is set to expire at the end of the next season. Talks over a new deal have stalled in recent months. The Blues could look to the bank in for him during the summer window as opposed to letting him leave on a Bosman deal in 2024.

Meanwhile, Liverpool have struggled with their midfield options this season. Almost all of the Reds’ senior midfielders have suffered injuries this campaign. Jurgen Klopp could look to strengthen the position at the end of the season.

Jude Bellingham, Matheus Nunes and Moises Caicedo are other midfielders who have been linked with a move to Anfield in recent weeks.

Thiago reveals why he joined Liverpool

Liverpool midfielder Thiago has revealed why he chose to join the Reds. While speaking to the media recently, he said: “Which other teams were more iconic in the Premier League?”

“Which one is a better project, better coach and Liverpool was perfect for that. It was a match from the first day”.

Thiago joined Liverpool from Bayern Munich during the summer transfer window of 2020. He played 90 games(in all competitions) for the Reds so far, registering three goals and three assists. The Spain international helped the Reds win one FA Cup, one EFL Cup and one Community Shield.

When will Liverpool play next?

Liverpool are currently sitting ninth in the Premier League table, with 28 points from 18 games. They will next lock horns against Chelsea in a league game at Anfield later today. Mason Mount is expected to feature in the game.
