Description of the Location:
The Bellerive Oval, which was built in 1914 and is now officially named Blundstone Arena thanks to a franchise rights agreement signed in October 2011, is the home of Tasmanian cricket and is located across from Hobart’s central business district on the eastern bank of the Derwent River.
Early in 2003, Bellerive had a massive renovation that included the creation of a new 6,000-seat Southern (David Boon) Grandstand, two TCA member facilities, indoor cricket facilities, and other upgrades.
The inaugural match at the recently restored stadium, an international one-day match between Australia and England, drew a ground record of 16,719 spectators.
Details:
In late 2009, brand-new spotlights appropriate for nighttime international cricket were finished.
The new Western Grandstand was built, increasing the venue’s occupancy to 19,500, starting in July 2013 and finishing in December 2014.
There are two levels of seating as well as cutting-edge business, media, and public amenities.
The oval’s dimensions are comparable to those of the MCG, however, its square bounds are a little bit shorter. Peter Apps, the designer, often creates pitches that produce a lot of runs, but he has gradually adjusted the nature of the wicket square such that matches now feature a more balanced duel between bat and ball.

Pitches at the bottom frequently start off slowly and smooth down with time. Due to the Oval’s location, Hobart’s afternoon sea winds frequently have an impact on game situations.
In addition to hosting regional Australian Football matches and cricket, Bellerive Oval also hosts AFL premiership season games for North Melbourne starting in 2012.
