Haas team principal Guenther Steiner has claimed that Kevin Magnussen is a bit too calm. He also pointed out that being calm is also his greatest strength as a driver.
Even though there have been instances of Kevin Magnussen instructing his future teammate to suck his balls, he is not quite known to have an aggressive personality.
Even when Kevin Magnussen is DNFed from a race on the first lap itself after someone crashes into him, the Dane handles things calmly. Guenther Steiner recently spoke about this side of the personality of Kevin Magnussen.
Speaking on the Beyond the Grid podcast, Guenther Steiner was asked to point out the greatest strength of Kevin Magnussen. He replied, “First of all his talent. He can stay calm, sometimes for me too calm!“
Guenther Steiner explained that Magnussen can handle a lot of pressure and it does not affect his temperament. The team principal has even found himself in situations where he told Magnussen to be a bit more aggressive.
“I have not seen him overreacting a lot, especially since he came back,” Explained Guenther Steiner. “I would say he’s a lot calmer [since he came back]. But I don’t think it’s only the time away, he’s got a family now. He’s two years older than when he left so that changes people as well.”

Guenther Steiner also spoke about how Kevin Magnussen made a comeback. He also revealed the details of the call that happened between him and team owner Gene Haas that led to Haas recalling Kevin Magnussen into their team.
Guenther Steiner said that he spoke to Gene Haas right after the team sacked Nikita Mazepin at the very beginning of 2022. The two of them went through all the possible candidates to take up the Haas seat And Kevin’s name came up.

Steiner then explained to Gene Haas that he needed to find out first I’d Kevin Magnussen can get himself out of his existing contract obligations and race for Haas.
Guenther Steiner then spoke with Magnussen and got back to Gene Haas to tell him that Magnussen will indeed join them. They soon delved into the nitty-gritty of the paperwork and got Magnussen to drive for them again in 2022.
