PAK vs ENG: Jos Buttler Lavishes Praise on Historic Zak Crawley Century Against Pakistan

PAK vs ENG: The white-ball skipper of England, Jos Buttler has heaped praise on Zak Crawley for a terrific century against Pakistan Cricket Team on Thursday.

Batting first, England Cricket Team continued their bazball approach in their first-ever Pakistan Tour after 17 years. Also, they last played on Asian soil after March 2021, when they toured India.

Zak Crawley and Ben Duckett showed no respite to the inexperienced bowling attack of the hosts. None of the bowlers was spared by the openers in the first Test of Pakistan vs England series.

In this process, the historic record was broken, when Zak Crawley’s century came off just 86 balls. It is now the fastest ton by an England Cricket opener in the red-ball format. He eclipsed Graham Gooch, who hit a hundred off 85 balls against India in 1993.

PAK vs ENG: Zak Crawley’s century sets the base; Duckett, Pope and Brook replicate

Buttler hailed the terrific partnership of Crawley and Duckett, who added 233 runs for the first wicket. The 32-year-old thinks the duo scored boundaries with utmost ease, which will be a confidence booster for the new opening partnership.

“It couldn’t get much better than that, could it? It was fantastic to see the ease with which they scored boundaries all around the wicket. Zak dominated to start with and Duckett got into his stride as well. For their confidence as a new opening partnership, it can’t get any better.”

The knocks from Crawley (122) and Duckett (107) set the foundation. Ollie Pope continued momentum with the contribution of 108, while Joe Root could score only 23 off 31.

It will be interesting to see if Pakistan bowlers can contain the English batters on the first session of Day 2. Otherwise, it may prove to be difficult for the hosts to save the Test match.
