T20 World Cup 2022: India’s fast bowler Mohammed Shami made a spectacular comeback for the national cricket team by letting his performance do the talking in the last over of Australia’s innings.

His superb bowling performance helped India get the better of Australia in the final over. The Indian national cricket team beat Australia by six runs at The Gabba.

Shami proved his selection right by taking three wickets in the last four balls of the last over of Australia’s innings. He conceded only 4 runs in the last over but went on to take three wickets.

Shami maintained an economy of 4 in the only over he bowled for the team. Apart from that, there was another dismissal which came in the form of a ‘run-out’.

The experienced right-arm fast bowler drew plaudits for his exceptional match-winning spell which helped Team India restrict the opposition at the right time.

T20 World Cup 2022: Mohammed Shami bowls a dream spell against Australia

When Australia required 11 runs off the last over, they had four wickets in hand. Pat Cummins and Josh Inglis were at the crease.

Australia had a chance to sail through but India’s fast bowler Mohammed Shami bowled a world-class spell to take wickets at the right time.

Indian skipper Rohit Sharma, at the post-match presentation said, “You need to keep things simple and hit the deck hard. Overall a good game for us, they had a decent partnership and that put us under pressure.

“Shami is coming back after a long time, so we wanted to give him an over. Wanted to give him a challenge and let him bowl the final over, and you saw what he did,” he added.
