The Knight Riders won their first title in the IPL 2012 season as they got the better of Chennai Super Kings to win the accolade under the leadership of Gautam Gambhir.

KKR also went on to win their second title by getting the better of Kings XI Punjab (now Punjab Kings) in the IPL 2014 final under Gautam Gambhir’s leadership.

Now, in this article, we will take a look at the list of seven players who played one season for KKR and then vanished from the IPL itself.

1. Rohan Gavaskar

It is cognizance of the fact that Rohan Gavaskar is the son of former Indian captain Sunil Gavaskar. Rohan played just 2 games in his IPL career. He represented KKR in the IPL 2010 where he scored 2 runs.

2. Yashpal Singh

Despite boasting a pretty good record in domestic cricket, Yashpal Singh was given just one season to play for KKR in the IPL. However, he didn’t bring the best out himself where he scored 47 runs in 8 games.

3. Arindam Ghosh

Arindam Ghosh is one of the players who represented KKR in one season and then disappeared from the tournament. In fact, he played just a couple of games for KKR in the IPL 2009 season where he scored 7 runs.

4. Mashrafe Mortaza

Former Bangladesh captain by the name of Mashrafe Mortaza played just 1 match in his IPL career. He represented KKR against the Deccan Chargers (now-defunct franchise) in 2009 season.

We have seen franchises buying players only for experimentation. In fact, KKR tried out many cricketers in the 2009 season. One of the players was Shoaib Shaikh. He played just one game for KKR where he scored only 6 runs against Rajasthan Royals.

6. Sourav Sarkar

Sourav Sarkar also played a couple of games for Kolkata Knight Riders in IPL 2009. The medium pacer took the wicket of Ravindra Jadeja of Rajasthan Royals, which was his only wicket.

7. Tatenda Taibu

Former Zimbabwe skipped Tatenda Taibu played the one and only season of his IPL career. He represented Kolkata Knight Riders in the IPL 2008 season where he accumulated 31 runs in 3 games.
