‘Mr. Tendulkar, If You Are In A Position, Could You Assist Me?’, Ex-West Indies Cricketer Asks Sachin Tendulkar For Help

Former West Indies cricketer Winston Benjamin made the headlines after he asked legendary Sachin Tendulkar for help on social media.

Winston Benjamin has reached out to former Indian cricketer Sachin Tendulkar for help in order to improve the situation in West Indies cricket.

It is cognizance of the fact that Cricket West Indies has been going through financial crisis for a long time now. Things did get better for them over the years but they aren’t financially stable yet.

As a result, they are unable to run cricket operations to run properly. The lack of funds and resources is adversely impacting cricket at the basic level in West Indies.

Benjamin decided to react out to cricket superstars in India, in the hope that they would help improve the current situation in the Caribbean nation.

The former West Indies pacer further added that the assistance need not be financial. However, he highlighted that the help can be in the form of basic equipment including cricket bats.

Winston Benjamin asks Sachin Tendulkar for help

Winston Benjamin, in his tweet explained everything in detail. He specifically mentioned that he required some equipment so that he can give back to the youngsters.

“Previously, we used to have a tournament in Sharjah where it used to be like a benefit game for players from different countries. I don’t want benefit. All I want is for somebody to say ‘here is some equipment’ – 10-15 bats, that is good enough for me.

“I don’t want 20000 US dollars. I just want some equipment so that I can give back to youngsters. That’s all I am asking,” the former West Indies pacer said in a video shared by sports journalist Vimal Kumar on his Youtube Channel.

Benjamin represented West Indies cricket team in 21 Tests and 85 ODIs between 1986 and 1995. He accounted for 161 dismissals in his international career.

“Mr. Tendulkar… if you are in a position, could you assist me? Hit me up,” he said while sharing his phone number,” he added in a statement.

“I would like to thank my good friend Mohammad Azharuddin. He sent me some equipment over. Azhar, congratulations! And thank you so much for that assistance. Stay in touch. Anyone else who wants to contribute, feel free,” the former West Indies pacer further added.
