Earlier, Rohit Sharma sustained a back spasm during the third T20I against the Caribbeans. The stalwart was in total discomfort in the run-chase and was unable to continue further.

As a result, the skipper decided to walk away from the turf and was retired hurt. The likes of Suryakumar Yadav, Shreyas Iyer and Rishabh Pant delivered the goods ever so well.

Team India went on to win the game by seven wickets and took a 2-1 lead in the five-match T20I series. The BCCI also confirmed that Rohit had a back spasm.

After the game, Rohit himself confirmed that the injury is not so serious and is alright at the moment. Experts and fans suggested the skipper to rest for the last two games.

Meanwhile, in the latest development, it’s been confirmed that Rohit Sharma is match-fit and will turn up for the last two T20Is in Florida. The fourth and fifth T20I will kick off on August 6 and 7 respectively.

Rohit Sharma scored 11 off 5 balls including a six and a four before getting discomfort at his back. The Indian skipper made his way back to the dressing room and was retired hurt.

Meanwhile, in the latest development, Rohit Sharma has been declared fit for the last two T20Is. A source in the BCCI told TOI that Rohit Sharma has recovered from his back spasms.

The source further added that the right-handed batsman is fit and raring to play the fourth and final T20I against West Indies cricket team.

“Yes, Rohit has recovered from his back spasms and is fit now. He and coach Rahul Dravid will join the team in Miami after they had to go to Guyana with a few other players for interviews for the US Visa,” a source in the BCCI told TOI.

“How we bowled in the middle overs was crucial. I thought we used the conditions well. Used the variations well. Was very clinical how we chased. When you watched from the outside, didn’t feel a lot of risk was taken, was a lot of calmness in the middle,” Rohit Sharma said after the match.

Team India had earlier won the ODI series by 3-0 under Shikhar Dhawan’s captaincy. India are now leading the T20I series by 2-1. They are just a win away from winning the T20I series as well.
