Commonwealth Games 2022 Medal Tally: Can India place in the top five? India Hockey advances to the next round with Sindhu, Srikanth, and Amit.

India might have only two medals on day seven of the Commonwealth Games 2022, but the boxing ring, as well as the badminton and squash courts, all produced positive results. Additionally, wrestling tournaments begin on Friday.

Sudhir started India’s para sports medal account with a gold (men’s heavyweight para powerlifting) not long after long jumper Murali Sreeshankar won the silver to become the first Indian male athlete to earn a Commonwealth Games Medal in the event.

Boxers Amit Panghal, Jaismine Lamboria, Sagar Ahalwat, and Rohit Tokas guaranteed India of more medals after qualifying for the semis. Shuttlers PV Sindhu, Kidambi Srikanth, and Lakshya Sen have advanced to the Round of 16.

Men’s Hockey Team thrashes Canada 8-0 wins end on Top of pool B

In their third game, the Indian men’s hockey team thrashed Canada 8-0 to take first place in Pool B at the Commonwealth Games in Birmingham. Harmanpreet Singh and Akashdeep Singh both scored a pair of goals

The Indians came out with more purpose and thoroughly dominated Canada in the first two quarters as they rebounded from the shock of a 4-4 tie against England after leading 3-0 at one point in their last game.

India would be the favorite to beat New Zealand or South Africa in the semifinals.

India tops the Weighlifting medal tally

When the shooting was excluded from Birmingham CWG, India may have lost a large source of medals, but weightlifting stepped up and brought home a sizable haul.
At the conclusion of the weightlifting competitions at the 2022 Commonwealth Games, India led the medal standings with 10 medals (3 gold, 3 silver, and 4 bronze).

Its surprising that India has earned fewer gold medals this time than they did at the 2018 CWG,. Last time, there were five gold medals, as opposed to the three golds this time from Mirabai, Jeremy, and Achinta.
