Real Madrid’s efforts almost paid off instantly as Carvajal put in a deadly cross that was converted by Rodrygo once again. Hence this took the game to extra time where Karim Benzema’s penalty gave Los Blancos a 3-1 victory over Manchester City!

Pep Guardiola’s side were visibly nervous after conceding the first Rodrygo goal in the 90th minute. The Sky Blues were not able to cope with Real Madrid’s attack even though they had quality defenders in their squad! 

Their “nervousness” eventually showed once again in extra time when Ruben Diaz brought Karim Benzema down for a penalty. The Portuguese international made the lunge in desperation, making it quite evident that the pressure had got to the players in the dying stages of the game.
