Football News: When your name is Erling Haaland, anything you do on the football pitch grabs headlines throughout the world. The Norwegian striker scored twice against Armenia on Tuesday as the Scandinavians won 9-0. However, he was substituted at the beginning of the second half as he was seen limping.

The Borussia Dortmund star is a hot prospect for many top European clubs in the summer. The former Salzburg man scored a brace in 45 minutes but couldn’t continue because of the pain. However, his country didn’t stop scoring without him as Watford’s Josh King scored a hat-trick whilst Martin Odegaard laid on several assists.

Top clubs around the world will be holding their breath as they await the diagnosis of the injury. It’s a certainty that the Norwegian will make a move to a new club in the summer. There are a lot of clubs that are interested in the youngster who is one of the most lethal scorers in the game now.

If the reports are to be believed, Manchester City and Real Madrid are among those tracking the 21-year-old. Haaland has scored 80 times in 82 outings for Dortmund.

Wherever he goes, the forward will expect massive money. However, his injury record might be a concern for the bidders. The sensational striker has missed 29 games in his two years with the German giants.

This includes Champions League and cup matches, but it’s still a worrying amount of time spent on the bench. As a spectator in the Europa League this season, Haaland was unable to assist his club in defeating the Rangers.

While in Germany, Haaland struggled with knee and muscle difficulties. He has missed seven consecutive games on two occasions, the first owing to a torn muscle fiber, and the second due to hip flexor issues.

Due to a nearly ten-week absence, Haaland has missed 14 games since October 21.

City interested in Haaland

In the summer, Manchester City was connected with Harry Kane, a player who has had his own injury troubles. Given his age, their focus may well shift to Haaland, but they will hope the forward can stay fit.

Madrid is looking to reinforce their attack in the summer. Los Blancos are reportedly interested in Kylian Mbappe as well. The Paris Saint-Germain striker is looking to leave the Parisians once his contract expires this summer.

Odegaard was the youngster ever player to ever play for the Spanish giants. The Arsenal winger recently that Haaland has asked him about life in the Spanish capital ahead of a possible trade. This must have come as music to the ears of the Madrid fans.

He stated, “We play together at the international level, and we remain good friends. We talk about a lot of things and about my time when I was there as well. So, yes, we discussed it, but it’s nothing exceptional.”
