Manchester United News: Crticism arise for United

Manchester United News: Manchester United suffered a catastrophic defeat against Manchester City on Sunday. They were beaten 4-1 by City at Etihad. The Red Devils have now lost both of their league matches against Manchester City this season. They lost their first encounter against Manchester City at Old Trafford 0-2 earlier this season.

Manchester United is struggling with their form. They have won just two of their last five league encounters, losing one and drawing two. The Red Devils currently stand 5th in the league tables and are at risk of losing their Champions League spot next season. Arsenal has taken the 4th position after their win against Watford on Sunday.

The Red Devils were without their main forwards Cristiano Ronaldo and Edinson Cavani. The two strikers were ruled out due to a suspected injury just hours before the clash. As a result, they started with Jadon Sancho and Anthony Elanga as their wing forwards and they pushed Bruno Fernandes forward.

Manchester City capitalized and dominated the Red Devils in their 4-1 victory at Etihad on Sunday. The match has raised a lot of criticism on United’s performance against their club rivals.

Manchester United News: Gary Neville criticized United while McTominay reacted

Football pundits Gary Neville and Roy Keane have criticized Manchester United for their lack of effort in the second half. They feel that Manchester United gave up in the last twenty minutes of the game and there were no efforts visible by United’s players.

The defending champions completely outclassed their rivals in the second half. After the first half heroics of Kevin de Bruyne, the second half belonged to Riyad Mahrez. Both the players scored a brace for Manchester City which led them to a 4-1 victory against United.

“Manchester United’s response to going 3-1 down has been embarrassing. Ninety-two percent possession for City? They have given up,” Sky Sports pundit Gary Neville said. “They were walking around the pitch. It’s nowhere near good enough.”

United’s midfielder Scott McTominay reacted to those comments. He admitted that he will have to watch it back to see what he thinks of the performance displayed by United. “They are all entitled to their own opinion, but for myself, it’s incredibly disappointing if people think that,” McTominay said after the match.

Red Devils in deep trouble

Manchester United slipped down to the fifth position in the league table after their defeat against City. Arsenal has moved up to the fourth position with three games in hand. This means Rangnick’s side now faces a tough task to qualify for the Champions League.

There are also rumors about who will be the next permanent manager of United. PSG’s Mauricio Pochettino and Ajax’s Erik ten Hag are the hot favorites for United. There are also some talks going around about what is going wrong in the club.

The locker room environment is not looking good. Players are lacking motivation in their game and they are not performing to their full potential.

Manchester United will be fighting for a Champions League spot. They will face Tottenham on Saturday in their next league encounter and will look to capitalize on the home advantage.
