IPL 2022 Auction: The Delhi Capitals are an Indian Premier League franchise cricket team headquartered in Delhi. The franchise is jointly owned by the GMR Group and the JSW Group. Arun Jaitley Stadium in New Delhi is the team’s home venue. In 2020, the Capitals reached their first IPL final.
The Delhi Capitals have been one of the Indian Premier League’s serial underachievers, despite having a great squad throughout the years. They have yet to win a title. The closest they got was in 2020 when they made it to the final for the first time and finished second. The IPL 2022 mega auction has given them a fresh start in rebuilding their squad in the hopes of winning their first-ever title.
Last year, DC kept four players: Rishabh Pant, Axar Patel, Prithvi Shaw, and Anrich Nortje. They spent Rs 42.5 Crore of their Rs 90 crore total budget to secure the services of these T20 stars. As a result, they will enter the IPL super auction with a bankroll of Rs 47.5 crore.
They have 21 available spots (each side can have a maximum of 25 players), seven of them are accessible to international players.
