However, the deal fell through, and Simmons’ future with the organization was jeopardized. The Australian was ready to move on and put his faith in Morey and the organization.

After Game 7 against the Atlanta Hawks, when Doc Rivers refused to back Simmons. In as the starting point guard of a club with championship hopes, that trust was destroyed.

Then Embiid labeled Simmons’ pass as the series’ “turning point”. Simmons felt misled, especially after the unsuccessful trade effort earlier this year.
