Team India had other ideas in the second innings. Rohit Sharma and KL Rahul added an 83-run partnership. The game saw a turning point after Rohit and Cheteshwar Pujara added a 153-run stand for the second wicket.

Rohit Sharma scored his maiden overseas Test century while Pujara scored 61. The 34-year-old scored 127 with the help of 14 fours and a six. Shardul Thakur and Rishabh Pant scored 60 and 50 respectively.
