Arsenal defender ready to move to Serie A this summer

Arsenal are under a great deal of pressure to perform this season following their recent failures. One of the key priorities for the Club this time around is transfers. The Premier League side are already close to a couple of acquisitions and will offload players as well.

One of the players who are heading towards an exit is Hector Bellerin. According to Calciomercato, The right-back reportedly prefers a move to Inter Milan than extend his stay at the Emirates. The Serie A champions are in the market for a right-back after selling Achraf Hakimi to PSG.

Bellerin was linked with a move away, last summer as well with PSG emerging as frontrunners. However, the move did not materialize, and the Spaniard went on to have a mediocre season under Mikel Arteta.

Inter Milan, who are enduring financial troubles are aiming to rope in Bellerin for a sum of around £20 million. The team have a void to fill at right-back after Hakimi’s departure with only Matteo Darmian among their ranks to play in that spot.

Bellerin faces competition from Denzel Dumfries

Reports also suggest that the Nerazzurri are also eyeing Denzel Dumfries to fill the right-back slot. The Dutch International had a stellar Euro 2020 and was conceivably the team’s best player in the tournament.

While the Oranje were knocked out in the Round Of 16 at the hands of the Czech Republic, Dumfries’ performance spoke volumes. The PSV right-back is the ideal candidate in the eye of the Serie A club with Bellerin shortly behind as a backup.

The 26-year-old is heading towards the end of his contract with the London club, and they would be keen to cash on him when the opportunity arises.

A commitment to buy after a season-long deal would also be enough for Arsenal who are looking to shake things up.

Arsenal trying to recruit more players in transfer window

The Gunners have had a transfer window to forget so far. After losing out on Emiliano Buendia to Aston Villa, the club are holding on to keep Emile Smith-Rowe at the club as the offers keep pouring.

While they have managed to successfully get close to securing the services of Nuno Tavares and Albert Lokonga. Any high-profile signings are far from being done raising several concerns.

Mikel Arteta is heavily suggesting the board sign, Ben White, from Brighton. The club have already rejected the opening bid for the central defender. However, personal terms and other aspects of the deal should not pose a problem.

Reports also claim that Arsenal have reignited their pursuit for Lyon’s Houssem Aouar. The 23-year-old midfielder was close to a move last summer, but the two parties could not agree on a fee. Arsenal are in desperate need of signings after the departures of Dani Ceballos, Martin Odegaard, and more.
