Video: Hardik Pandya smashes a no-look six off Ben Stokes in T20I

Hardik Pandya has established himself as a productive all-rounder of the Indian cricket team. He has definitely improved his batting and his performances were witnessed in the limited-overs series against Australia.

The all-rounder struck 90 off 76 balls in the first ODI against Australia. He smashed a total of 7 fours and 4 sixes at an imperious strike-rate of 118.42. The Baroda cricketer unleashed his mojo with the bat in the third ODI as well.

He scored 92 off 76 balls including 7 fours and a six. Hardik Pandya continued his good touch with the bat even in the T20I series. The 27-year-old scored 42 off 22 balls in the first T20I with the help of 3 fours and 2 sixes at a strike-rate of 190.91.

Rightly so, he was named the man of the match. After that, he took a break from international cricket to spend some quality time with his family members. Meanwhile, India won the Border Gavaskar Trophy under Ajinkya Rahane’s leadership.

After that, India locked horns with England in the Test series which was part of the ICC World Test Championship. Despite losing the first Test, India won the last three Tests. India won the Test series by 3-1 and qualified for the ICC WTC final.

Hardik Pandya hits a no-look six

Hardik Pandya made a comeback to the Indian team after a long time. He featured in the first T20I against England. However, he didn’t really look aggressive with the bat. He might not have unleashed the storm in the game but entertained the fans with a no-look six.

Earlier, India didn’t start the game properly as they lost wickets quickly. Indian captain Virat Kohli registered yet another duck against England. Lokesh Rahul (1), Shikhar Dhawan (4), Rishabh Pant (21) failed to showcase their mettle.

When Hardik Pandya stepped out to bat, he faced too much pressure from the England bowlers. During the 15th over, when India was batting at 74/4, Hardik Pandya decided to take the attack to the cleaners.

India was scoring at around 5 runs in an over. During the fourth ball of the 15th over bowled by Ben Stokes, Hardik Pandya unleashed a no-look shot for a six towards the long-off region. The video went viral on social media platforms.

India lost the first T20I

India managed to post 124/7 in their allotted quota of 20 overs. Jofra Archer was the pick of the bowlers as he took 3 wickets. Shreyas Iyer was the best batsman for Team India as he alone scored 67 off 45 balls including 8 fours and 1 six.

In reply, England openers Jason Roy and Jos Buttler got off to a fantastic start. The duo added a 74-run stand for the opening wicket before Buttler was dismissed leg before wicket off Yuzvendra Chahal’s bowling. Washington Sundar trapped Jason Roy for an LBW.

Roy missed his half-century by just 1 run. However, the likes of Dawid Malan and Jonny Bairstow steered England to the finishing line by adding an unbeaten 41-run stand for the third wicket. Malan scored 24 off 20 balls while Bairstow scored 26 off 17 balls. England won by 8 wickets and opened the account in the series.
