IPL: Tinder India Asks Whether Rajasthan Royals’ Rahul Tewatia Is Single

Rajasthan Royals faced Kings XI Punjab on Sunday in IPL 2020 and it led to one of the historic encounters ever witnessed. The Royals chased down a mammoth 224 runs and became the first team to do so in the competition.

THE BATTLE ROYALE

Kings XI Punjab batted first in the match. Mayank Agarwal scored his first century (106 off 50) in IPL as the Kings put 223 on board. Skipper KL Rahul also contributed with 69 runs off 54 balls. Jofra Archer, Sam Curran, and Rahul Tewatia all ended with economic rates over 10.

For RR, skipper Steve Smith opened the innings with Jos Butler. Though Butler was dismissed for just 4 runs, Smith and Sanju Samson steadied the ship with 50 and 85 runs each. The target of 224 runs, however, was looking like a far-fetched dream for the Royals.

THE TEWATIA SHOW

After Steve Smith was dismissed, Rahul Tewatia has promoted up the order to come in at number 4. At first, he was not getting the ball onto his bat and was unable to hit it properly.

However, in the 18th over of the RR innings, Tewatia finally got his act right as he hit West Indian speedster, Simon Cottrell, for five sixes. His innings of 53 runs off 31 balls was definitely the turning point of the match in RR’s way.

Tewatia’s composure with the bat in the face of such a huge challenge was surely one of the highlights of IPL this year so far. This is why so many fans stay glued to their TV, mobile, and laptop screens throughout the tournament.

TINDER CHECKS IN!

Rahul Tewatia’s heroics undoubtedly has helped him get several admirers and one of them is the popular dating app Tinder. After the match was over, Tinder India asked Rajasthan Royals hilariously whether the all-rounder was single or not on their official Twitter handle. The Tweet read, “Is Rahul Tewatia single? Asking for a friend.”

In response to the tweet, RR replied, “Why don’t you ask him yourself?” They also tagged the Indian player in the tweet.

To this, Tinder India also tagged Rahul Tewatia in the tweet along with Rajasthan Royals and replied, “the nation wants to know”.

The surreal batting effort by Tewatia has certainly attracted the attention of the nation and Tinder India’s hilarious tweet was proof enough of that. Hopefully, the all-rounder can carry on in his merry way in the future as well and offer the spectators some more entertainment as the tournament progresses.
