President confirms Milan joins race to sign United and Inter Target

AC Milan is the next club to show interest in signing a 20-year-old midfielder from Brescia alongside Inter Milan and United.

Manchester United keen on signing Brescia’s next ‘Andrea Pirlo,’ but now it could be tough for the Red Devils. Brescia’s President Massimo Cellino yesterday announced that AC Milan has shown interest in signing the young sensation. The 20-year-old is also on the radar of Antonio Conte’s Inter Milan as well. Inter agreed to sign him on loan and an option to buy him next summer for a fee of £31.3 million.

However, Inter Milan are still in the race to sign Tonali amidst Milan’s interest. The 20-year-old has already represented his country thrice at the National level. The lad is considered to be the future of Italian midfield and being highly rated. That’s the exact reason why Ole is keen to sign the midfielder for United. Imagine him playing alongside Pogba and Bruno Fernandes. However, Tonali’s agent has asked him to consider playing in Seria A for a while.

The six-foot-tall defensive midfielder would be a great addition for any side considering his age and talent. Sandro is showing good promise in Seria A after an impressive show for Brescia. Sandro Tonali is now playing alongside veteran Italian striker Mario Balotelli. However, the 30-year-old striker isn’t in his prime form scoring just 5 goals. Mario made 19 appearances for Brescia last season in Seria A.

According to Corriere Dello Sport, Brescia President has confirmed the approach made by AC Milan for their defensive midfielder Sandro Tonali. However, the President has mentioned that it’s up to Tonali to decide his future. ‘I appreciated the professionalism of Paolo Maldini, who is very much in the style of the historic Milan approach,’ Cellino told Sky Sport Italia.

“I don’t want to add anything more on that, as I do not wish to be inopportune or too free with my word. Beppe Marotta always confirmed the strong interest that Inter have for the player, so I tried to avoid negotiations with other clubs, including ones from abroad. However, this lad needs to know what his future holds. I am in no rush, but Tonali is,” he added.

Can Tonali fit in to AC Milan system?

Inter have agreed to sign Tonali on loan with an option to buy next summer according to recent reports. However, Cellino claims AC Milan are in pole position to sign the midfielder with an improvised bid. Inter Milan are already eyeing Barcelona and Chilean midfielder Arturo Vidal to sign this summer. With Joao Mario and Nainggolan set to return for them, it’s not a must for Conte to sign Sandro this season.

Although, Sandro might be the future of Italy and a hot prospect in Europe at the age of 20. Conte can shape the player really well with his style of play. If they lose out on Lautaro Martinez to the Catalan club, then Milan can possibly spend high on their new signings. Tonali is being called as the next Andrea Pirlo amidst the Italian legend recently joined Juventus as head coach.

AC Milan under Pioli is doing good and Tonali joining Milan side, would bolster their midfield. Milan has a good midfield set up likes of Kessie and Bennacer. While their experienced Lucas Biglia might leave Milan after his contract runs out next month. However, Milan are in talks with Chelsea to sign their deadwood Bakayoko on a permanent deal to give him another chance.

Tonali could be the man for Pioli with strong holding midfielders in his squad. The lad can develop well and get good game time as well. However, his agent confirmed that Inter has had an advanced discussion with the player. Sandro would be happy to join a history-rich club and develop himself under the roof of legends.

Zlatan has recently announced his stay with Milan for yet another season in Seria A. The 38-year-old still going strong and powerful amidst his age. Not only him, but they’re close to signing former Manchester City forward Brahim Diaz. Milan are looking to sign him on loan and check if he could fit into their play. Manchester City has a clause in Brahim Diaz’s contract, where it states Manchester United can’t sign the star in the future.

Did Barcelona bid for Tonali?

There was a rumor that Barcelona made an offer for the youngster being reported by Mundo Deportivo. Apparently, Barcelona was interested but didn’t make an offer. “Tonali’s contract runs until 2021, Brescia are last and will likely be relegated,” Jatin Dietl, Area Manager Italy said. “Even though the club has an option to renew his contract for one more year, Tonali will leave Brescia. As a result, the club is attempting to get the best possible price in what has been a difficult market.”

The club has signed Pjanic from Juventus already, who recently tested positive for Corona will join squad soon when he recovers. So, Barcelona going for another defensive mid is not an option. While Messi is still not in the mood to continue with Barcelona. After the Argentine made it clear that he won’t attend the PCR scheduled tomorrow.
