Chelsea has received the Timo Werner demand and Boateng has responded on links.
Boateng was struggling for game time under former Bayern boss Niko Kovac. There was a doubt in the player’s head regarding his future with Bayern Munich amongst interest from Chelsea. However all of that has come to an end now.
With new Boss Hansi Flick the German has found a new role in the squad. ‘Before Hansi Flick, I was already thinking about my future,’ Boateng told Welt am Sonntag. ‘I need the trust of the coach and his coaching team. I have it again.
While there were links between Chelsea and Arsenal trying to acquire Boateng in the coming window. Flick has left that decision on Boateng. The player as of now is again happy with his spell with his club and wants to extend his stay.
His contract is set to expire next season but an extension will likely be on its way as management has a lot of trust in him.
Club legend Frank Lebouef says Havertz better than Coutinho
Chelsea has been linked with a potential move for Phillipe Coutinho. While there are many who are excited by that prospect, some are also against the proposition.
Chelsea legend Frank Lebouef has come out and said that Havertz would be a better signing than Coutinho. He told ESPN FC: “I like his maturity on the field, he looks like someone who is 30 and knows exactly what he has to do and when he has to do it.”
Havertz now has 14 goals and 8 assists in 36 appearances for Leverkusen in all competitions. While Coutinho on the other hand has 9 goals and 8 assists in 32 appearances for Bayern Munich. In the Bundesliga itself Havertz has shown better quality in his performances.
Marina Granovskaia also agrees with Lebouef on this. Havertz’s transfer value is around 81 million which would be just slightly more than Coutinho’s 56 million. He has the capabilities to fill in Hazard’s boots.
However Havertz has made it clear that he will see the season out and then see how situations shape up. Although previously he did state ambitions for a move to a bigger club. He can be a good asset for a young Chelsea team.
Chelsea fans want Werner to come to Stamford Bridge
Timo Werner the Leipzig attacker is one of the most wanted men across Europe this season. The player scored 2 goals in his return to the Bundesliga. His tally for the season now is at 24 goals and 7 assists in 38 appearances.
Werner has been linked with some of Europe’s top dogs. In a survey conducted by Football.London the 24-year-old is one of the players the fans want to see at Stamford Bridge. There have been urges for Frank Lampard to make a move for him. Although it doesn’t work that way.
Werner and Abraham play in similar roles and if Chelsea were to go and sign Werner it will certainly mean less game time for Abraham unless Lampard switches formations. The same would be the case for Havertz and Mount.
One thing which Frank has shown in unpredictability in his decisions. Everyone thought Giroud would be leaving but Lampard went ahead and agreed to an extension. Who knows whats the Englishman has in store for Chelsea next
