Arteta should use these ‘keys to unlock’ the full strength of Gunners after restart

Premier League is expecting to return by June and Arsenal is looking forward to a comeback under Arteta.

In North London, Arsenal, Mikel Arteta was doing serious home works for the reopening of the suspended season. The Spaniard is locked in London with a team camp and it was not boring holidays for the boss. The degrading play of Gunners and lack of big wins already donated enough criticism in Emirates stadium.

Along with that, Arteta has got a bunch of businesses to deal with before the season restart. The preparation for the summer transfer window is adding more weight to his baggage. The underperforming squad has not got the momentum since the departure of Arsene Wenger and Unai Emery lost total control over Gunners. The appointment of Pep’s assistant in North London has given more time to rejuvenate the side for a better future.

Although, the major concern that Arteta should address immediately is the selection of permanent midfield options for the rest of the season as per Football London.

The available options for the midfield setting include Mesut Ozil, Dani Ceballos, Granit Xhaka, and Lucas Torreira. While, the season formation adopted by Arteta in most games is 4-2-3-1 with two Defensive holding midfielders and three wide attacking midfielders. The center-forward position preferred Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.

Ceballos, Ozil and Xhaka

Dani Ceballos was a key figure in Arteta’s attacking formation. He got only 29 games this season because of the unexpected miss-outs. The Spaniard is on loan from Real Madrid which ends this summer. He was widely used as an attacking midfielder in Zidane’s rotation policy in Madrid. Arteta gave him a more defensive role in which the player found a new rhythm in the position. He was also quick in finding space from the defensive position. His fitness is a need for Arsenal’s rest of the campaign.

Mesut Ozil missed a lot this season. The midfield soul of Gunners was in the legs of the German for the previous seasons. The change in play reduced the game time of the midfielder under Arteta. Also, his partnership with Ceballos was the positive of the season. In deep midfield he got more space to spread the play when Ceballos took more defensive duties.

Granit Xhaka observed as ‘quarterback’ in the formation of Mikel Arteta. The defensive position just in front between center-back and left-back gave him that description. Also, he was available for 22 matchdays in the premier league for Gunners. The defensive contribution of the Swiss-made more space for David Luiz in the back to organize possible supply to the front. Another defensive midfielder Lucas Torreira is also a concern for Arsenal. The 24-year-old was struggling with fitness before the closing of the season. He was a man defending in the midfield of Arteta. The service of Torreira would be what Arsenal miss if he won’t take back his fitness.

Rejuvenation and Gunner’s Stat

As of now, Mikel Arteta already gave a ray of hope for the stands of Emirates stadium. His setting up of play was upto the convincing level. All he wants is time and money. The current situation is not allowing both to the boss.

Even though, the season got 10 more matchdays to complete. Arsenal is placed ninth in the table with eight points away from the Champions League spot. Gunners have got some big targets to chase. Also, the seasons without Champions League stages has already frustrated the management of North London. This affected the finance of the club in terms of its market value.

In short, Arteta got big challenges to overcome. As a result, he needs to prove his ability within the next season and the future will depend on the time he used for the rejuvenation policy. The remaining season and the summer transfer window is a stage for him.
