United star forward and Solskjaer relationship might change in the near future.

Anthony Martial has come to the fore but that couldn’t stop Solskjaer to search for a new center-forward.

Before the football was temporarily suspended due to the Coronavirus crisis, Anthony Martial stepped up for Manchester United. The French forward ended up with four goals in his last six matches played. This includes the strikes against Manchester City and Chelsea. Despite his recent development, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is still looking for a new center-forward at Old Trafford.

Anthony Martial always possessed the talent to shine. When he joined United in 2015 and scored a stunning debut goal against Liverpool. He was awarded  Premier League Player of the Month in his maiden month in English football.

Martail as stepped for United as centre-forward

The France international who works according to his surroundings. For instance when things are good, so is he. His best performances are seen mostly in games where United are expected to win.

Before the halt though, the situation appeared to change. The analysis was made prior to the games against Chelsea and City. It was when Martial looked so hopeless in the goalless draw with Wolves at the end of January.

Under Solskjaer, Martial has shown immense improvement in recent times and was rewarded the faith of Solskjaer in the whole process.

While Martial has greatly advanced in his performance, even than Solskjaer is eyeing to sign a new striker at the end of the season.

Few names on United’s Radar.

Haaland is one of the top targets for United in summer.

Erling Haaland, Timo Werner, Harry Kane, and Moussa Dembele are four names that United consider as potential forwards for the club.

If Solskjaer could work his way, Haaland would have joined United till now. Solskjaer was desperate to sign the compatriot. Hence he left extremely disappointed when the 19-year-old chose Borussia Dortmund over United in January instead.

But if United decide to invest in a new forward, they should risk seeing Solskjaer and Martial’s relationship change.

Anthony Martial in his Juvenile years at United

Martial and Ole relation will change as United look for Striker.

Martial was excited to play as a center-forward when Jose Mourinho succeeded Louis van Gaal in 2016. As he flourished in that position under the Dutchman. But, very rapidly the situation changed.

Martial is a player who needs to feel loved in order to perform well. That’s why Solskjaer was happy to give him the opportunity and advice him behind the camera rather than in public. But Mourinho never showered enough love on him.

Martial was not happy from the start with Mourinho immediately bringing Zlatan Ibrahimovic with him to Old Trafford. To add insult to his misery, the Frenchman’s No 9 jersey was also passed to the Swede as well. And that established the feeling for a bitter relationship.

Martial’s never really regained his confidence. It was in the last few months of Mourinho’s reign, when the Portuguese boss was aware of his falling spell at United, that Martial rediscover his charm.

Martial expressed his unhappiness when Romelu Lukaku made a move from Everton in 2018.

Just like Marcus Rashford, the Frenchman was hoping to play as a center-forward following Ibrahimovic’s serious knee injury. Should United plan on signing a striker and they plan to do just that they did previously they could risk seeing Martial change again.

Martial looks like the Ballon d’Or winner United thought they were signing from Monaco five years ago.

But Martial’s a sensitive soul and seek support. The arrival of Haaland or Kane could compel him to go back to the resentful, bad-tempered version that was observed often during Mourinho’s spell.
