10 worst players from every Premier League-winning squad in the past decade

From each Premier League winning squad, there was one player in each team who did nothing for the team. Winning trophies for those players were more than success.

Here are such players from every League-winning squad as follows.

1. Yuri Zhirkov (Chelsea): 2010

Zhirkov is a Russian footballer, who can play as a  left-back or as a left-winger. He came to Chelsea as a back-up for Ashley Cole with an 18 million pounds fee. Zhirkovwas in Carlo Ancelotti’s league winning side. He played only 29 matches for Chelsea in two seasons and then leave.

2.Darron Gibson (Manchester United): 2011

The Irish midfielder came to Man Utd in 2005. He got potential but there were better players than him in  Sir Alex Ferguson’s squad. That is why he did not get many opportunities and spent most of his time on loan. However, he won major trophies with United including Premier League.

3. Stefan Savic (Manchester City): 2012

Savic is a Montenegro international player currently playing for the La Liga side Athletico Madrid as a central defender. He is doing well in Spain but his spell in Manchester was poor. He lasted only one season there. Although, he managed to win a league trophy for the Citizens.

4. Alexander Buttner (Manchester United): 2013 

Buttner is a Dutch left-back, who was in the squad of Sir Alex Ferguson’s last season at Man Utd. He lasted there for two seasons but managed to play only 12 matches for the Red Devils. In his first season at Old Trafford, he won the league without doing nothing.

5.Costel Pantilimon (Manchester City): 2014

This Romanian goalkeeper spent three seasons at the Etihad; first season on loan and next two seasons as a permanent player. However, Costel Pantilimon played only 7 games in his 3 years for the Citizens. Although City won the league in 2014 when Costel was one of their squad members.

6. Filipe Luis (Chelsea): 2015

Filipe Luis is a Brazillian defender usually plays at the left-back position. Before joining Chelsea, he did really well at Athletico Madrid. But, at Chelsea, he did nothing and lasted only one year. Luckily, Chelsea won the league that year. He went to Athletico Madrid after spending one year in London.

7. Gokhan Inler (Leicester City): 2016

Inler is a Swiss midfielder. He joined the Premier League side Leicester City in 2015 after a successful career in Napoli. But, in England, he was nowhere near his previous form. He played for Leicester only on 5 occasions and then sold. Although, Leicester has done something extraordinary in that season to win the league title.

8. Nathaniel Chalobah (Chelsea): 2017

Chalobah started his youth career at Chelsea. In 2010 he joined the senior team. He spent 7 years at Chelsea. But most of the time he spent on loan at different clubs. During the 2016-17 season, he won the league title in 2017 with Chelsea without contributing anything.

9. Eliaquim Mangala (Manchester City): 2018 

This French central-defender came to Man City in 2014. But, he failed to establish himself in Man City’s first team. He managed to play 57 games for City and spent few seasons on loan in between. Mangala won the league with the Citizens under Pep Guardiola in 2018.

10. Danilo (Manchester City): 2019

This Brazillian full-back came from Real Madrid to Man City with a lot of expectations.  But, he did not get enough game time. Danilo played 34 games for City in 2 years. However, he won two back to back league titles with City under Pep Guardiola with ease.

So, these are the 10 worst players from the last decade from the Premier League-winning squad.
