Real Madrid Superstar Hits Out At Liverpool Supporters

Since Sergio Ramos’ foul on Liverpool’s Egyptian star forward Mohamed Salah, he has been widely criticized by Liverpool fans.

Sergio Ramos foul [which Liverpool fans call intentional] on Mohamed Salah in the UEFA Champions League final turned the tide as Jurgen Klopp was forced to replace the injured player. It helped Real Madrid assert dominance in the game and they eventually won it 3-1. Numerous celebrated figures, including Liverpool coach Jurgen Klopp, criticized Sergio Ramos and termed the foul intentional. Now, Ramos has come on his defence and says that he is really concerned about the hatred Liverpool supporters have on him.

He said, “I’m not really concerned about that. I never wanted to hurt a colleague on the pitch, of course, so my conscience is really clear about what I did that night. I’m not going to be affected by that at all. I know the English fans will treat players as they deserve and I’m not worried about that in the slightest.”

Sergio Ramos and Real Madrid have got a perfect start to their La Liga campaign as the defending champions have garnered maximum points from three games. Sergio Ramos has already 2 goals for Julen Lopetegui’s side so far in the league as he converted two penalties he received.

Sergio Ramos will lead the Spanish squad that face England in the Uefa Nations Cup fixture. Spain had a horrible World Cup campaign as they were ousted from the tournament in the pre Quarters against hosts Russia, in the penalties.

Despite controlling the possession and dictating the play, Spain lacked incisiveness and defensive tenacity, which resulted in their failure to ease past defensive lines. Spain made numerous defensive flaws which made it easier for the opponents to score. The performance of their No.1 goalkeeper David de Gea, who had a tournament to forget, added to Spain’s woes.

Author’s Take

Against England, they will be hoping to start their UEFA Nations Cup campaign on a winning note. England will be a tough nut to crack for Spain as the Harry Kane captained-side reached the semi-finals of the FIFA World Cup with an impressive performance. Luis Enrique, who replaced Herrero at the helm, will be hoping to begin his journey as Spain’s coach with a comfortable victory.
