Since joining FC Barcelona from Valencia in 2012, the left-back has grown on to become a regular at the Catalan camp.
FC Barcelona’s star left-back and Spain International Jordi Alba has made it clear about his intentions to retire at FC Barcelona. The left-back was not included in the squad chosen by former FC Barcelona coach and current Spain head coach Luis Enrique for the International fixtures.

However, he responded to it with a stunning performance against Huesca in the La Liga, a game which FC Barcelona dominantly won 8-2. The 29-year-old left-back scored a goal and assisted two in their thumping victory. He will be looking forward to continuing the same once the action restarts after the International break.
Alba’s current contract with FC Barcelona expires in 2020 and when asked whether he would renew, he explained, “My intention is to stay at Barcelona for my whole life, I hope I can retire at Barça,”
Luis Enrique shockingly snubbed Jordi Alba from Spain’s squad for the International fixtures, but the player has no complaints. He said, “These are decisions managers have to make and whether you like [the decision] or not, you have to accept it. I will try to give my best for my club and for the national team, if I am called up.”
The left-back also said he has improved and claimed it is not easy to play for FC Barcelona. He said, “I have improved a lot as I have got older. I am in a good moment in my life, but also on the pitch, where I have matured as a player. It’s not easy to play for Barça.”
