Premier League Preview Game Week- 2 (Part 1)

The Premier League round 2 revives the rivalry in London as the derby day with new dimension headlines the Super Saturday to start a new era of confrontation in managing personnel.

The less hyped derby between Spurs and Fulham holds a proper significance targeting the opposite end of the tables. Cardiff will look to take flight against the toons at the City stadium while the Hammers would like to start of their home campaign with a win to put the cherry on the top. Toffees would like to convert their tenacity into results against the Saints struggling to find conviction in front of the goal.

The Wolves vs Foxes promises to be a ferocious encounter where the former champions will collide against free-spending and flowing wanderers looking to seal a spot in the Premier League. Chelsea and Arsenal will round off the Super Saturday with a sublime line up headed by the returning Eden Hazard.

Cardiff City vs Newcastle United

Tale of the Tape

It was a rude awakening for the bluebirds in this blue phase of the Premier League against Bournemouth, home is where they should find heart if they want to create wonder at Wales. The squad is thin and they depend on the likes of Junior Hoilett and Bobby Reid to provide inspiration.

Tyneside created a tough contest for Tottenham at St James’s Park last weekend but the result didn’t go their way which was unfortunate, Joselu and Perez have seemed to develop a partnership of some sort with Shelvey pulling the strings in the middle.

Prediction: Cardiff to inch this one and kick-start their campaign

Player Focus: Junior Hoilett

West Ham United vs Bournemouth

Tale of the Tape

The Hammers got hammered by the iron fist of the Merseyside whose punches were too heavy to absorb and recover from in the end. There is quality in this West Ham side but it is facing a challenge of depletion as most of the big guns have exceeded their prime in the Premier League.

Bournemouth started brightly with the belligerence of Callum Wilson and Ryan Fraser creating havoc on the newly promoted Cardiff side. There is a compact look to Bournemouth this season that can help achieve sustainability moving forward.

Prediction: West Ham to liven up the London Stadium with a win.

Player Focus: Marko Arnatauvic

Everton vs Southampton

Tale of the Tape

It was quite a show set up by Richarlison last weekend at the Molineux to display his magnificent side which goes hand in hand with the mercurial one as well. Toffees have acquired the taste for transition under Marco Siva to bring the glitter at the Goodison Park this season.

Saints are suffering from the baptism of blanks where scoring has been subdued at the St Mary’s. The departure of Dusan Tadic has only increased the concern for consistency at this Cathedral. Mccarthy’s heroics saved them against Burnley but the firepower has to come from the front to fix this futile situation.

Prediction: Everton to exercise their dominance with a victory.

Player Focus: Theo Walcott

Leicester City vs Wolverhampton

Tale of the Tape

The Foxes had a fiery outing at Old Trafford where the finish was the only missing part which eventually came in the dying stages of the match more as a consolation from Leicester’s very own Lannister Jamie Vardy. Leicester looked good on the ball and showed that they are up for the challenge even without the might of Mahrez.

The Wolves attacked in packs but were outdone by the hunter willing to prove a point. Nifty Neves was precision personified with his vision and execution that allowed his teammates to find purpose in this surrounding and would once again require to feature heavily against Leicester.

Prediction: A draw is in the offering but Leicester has the edge

Player Focus: Demarai Gray

Tottenham Hotspur vs Fulham

Tale of the Tape

The lesser built London Derby with a new dimension directs a  phase in the Premier League. Spurs looked less convincing but were still able to grind out the win at the Tyneside much to the relief of Pochetino. Kane looked rusty but the cast around him was sharp and decisive to achieve a desired result. The whites have to embrace Wembley once again for a while as the lane is not yet secured.

Fulham would be craving for a win after the heartbreaking loss at Craven Cottage on their return to the Premier League. Time flies by rather quickly in these surroundings, the cottage would require to be more compact if they want to survive in this climate.

Prediction: Spurs to dismiss Fulham in this London derby

Player Focus: Harry Kane

Chelsea vs Arsenal

Tale of the Tape

The headliner of this game week is a gigantic derby that will govern the newly shaped structure of these two respective sides. Chelsea responded emphatically after their loss in the Community shield with a resounding win against Huddersfield to harness some hope in Sarri. Doubts still hover around the fragile status of Hazard that needs to be handled with care, overall the shape of the side looks promising but deploying David Luiz at center back in a 2 man defense is an accident waiting to happen at the Bridge.

The Gunners, on the other hand, were gunned down by the might of Manchester in a one-sided affair at the Emirates last week. The change in system has brought new sanctum in the synopsis but the syndicate requires more substance especially in the midfield to gather sanity in results. This contest can provi.de stability to at least one side moving forward.

Prediction: I am expecting a tight affair but Chelsea have strength in midfield to extract a win.

Player Focus: Eden Hazard
