Arsenal right-back Hector Bellerin has rubbished rumors of a move away from the North London club and stated that he will continue playing his football at the Emirates.

With new boss Unai Emery taking over from legendary Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger this summer, there seems to be a breath of fresh air at the Premier League club. A new era begins this season and Hector Bellerin wants to be part of that with Arsenal. The highly-rated Spanish defender came under heavy abuse from most of the Arsenal faithful after his comments at the Oxford Union dissing the fans for lack of support.

This led to the rumors that the 23-year-old would be leaving Arsenal in the next few transfer windows. Serie A champions Juventus were reportedly keeping close tabs on Bellerin’s situation and Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City too were interested in the young fullback. In fact, such impressive were his performances at times that even Barcelona was pondering whether to bring Bellerin back to the Camp Nou.

However, on Arsenal’s pre-season tour of Singapore, Bellerin put all those transfer rumors to bed after being constantly asked whether he would be staying at Arsenal or not.

Bellerin Rubbishes Transfer Talk

After the preseason game against Atletico Madrid, Bellerin was directly asked by the Evening Standard whether a move is on the cards or not to which the Spaniard replied, “It is crazy that people ask me these questions all the time. A few years ago I signed a very long-term contract. I have never said that I have wanted to be anywhere else. I am very happy in London. I am very happy with this club. The club has made me who I am and gave me the chance to be the footballer I am today. So I don’t want to be anywhere else.”

I think that it’s great news for Arsenal that despite all the uneventful proceedings that have taken place in the recent past, Bellerin is still willing to remain at Arsenal and fight for his place at the club. He has great potential and I am waiting to see how he grows under Emery.
