AC Milan look to offload Donnarumma with the player’s agent, Mino Riola, determined to see his client move to away from Serie A.

Gianluigi Donnarumma could be donning the blue of Chelsea as reports emerging from Italy with Corriere dello Sport claiming that the Milanese club would consider parting with the 19-year-old with an idea to bring Alvaro Morata back to Serie A.

The future Italian No.1 has been no stranger to transfer speculation, credit to Mino Riola, and is again being linked with a move away from San Siro. Even the Milan hierarchy have had a tough time dealing with the feisty agent and look to make the best use of the situation by bringing the Spanish forward through the door.

The Rossoneri had a tough season in front of the goal with their big investment, Andre Silva, struggling to adapt after scoring an unimpressive 8 from 36 appearances (most of them being from the bench). And the likes of Cutrone, Borini and Kalinic couldn’t bring goals to the table on a consistent level.

Morata, on the other hand, had been on fire for Chelsea before tailing off whilst suffering an “unbearable” back injury after the turn of the year. The former Real Madrid man would be looking to engineer a move away from west London, Italy being the likely destination, after being snubbed by Lopetegui for the World Cup. With Thibaut Courtois stalling on a renewal and expressing a desire to move back to Madrid one day, this might be the time to cash out with his deal expiring in 2019.

Author’s take-

Morata wanting to move to familiar shores could fall in the hands of the Rossoneri who are believed to have lined up Pepe Reina as their custodian for the next season. The deal would be well received by all parties involved and also fill up Riola’s bank accounts. Possible Financial Fair Play sanctions might force AC Milan hand into getting it done. The only stumbling block might be that fact that Real Madrid might be also looking at the Italian youngster to replace Keylor Navas.
