United Star Sent To His Native For Treatment After Injury Scare

Manchester United Star Romelu Lukaku has been sent back home to Belgium to receive treatment ahead of the FA Cup final.

Lukaku has been incredible for the Red Devils after a poor start to the campaign when he came under heavy criticism from the United faithful and even the pundits. The 24-year-old arrived at the Theater Of Dreams from Merseyside club Everton in the summer for a massive fee of £75 million but is only off-late justifying his hefty price tag with some match-winning performances.

During United’s 2-1 victory against North London side Arsenal last weekend, Lukaku was subbed off with Injury concerns about potentially missing the FA Cup final against Chelsea later this month. Lukaku has netted 27 times for Jose Mourinho’s Manchester United this season and has become the focal point of the Portuguese’s attack as the main striker. United look destined to clinch onto the 2nd spot on the Premier League table but are now more concerned about the Belgian’s injury.

Inside News-

After a scan on Monday, Lukaku was sent back to his birth town Antwerp to recover at a clinic Move to Cure, which left the United team and fans in some worry. United booked their spot in the FA Cup final and Lukaku has been their strong frontman, holding up the ball and involving players around him. But an ankle injury has now put the centre-forward’s fitness in jeopardy.

According to sources in ESPN, Lukaku is unlikely to be available for the Friday clash against Brighton but there is hope that he could be back before the end of the season. The United staff is also confident that Lukaku will be fit to face Chelsea on 19th May as he continues his recovery.

Author’s Take-

Despite being confident that Lukaku should be available for the Chelsea clash an ankle problem needs nursing. Mourinho knows the importance of Lukaku and needs his top scorer for the fierce encounter against the Blues, hoping he will win the race against fitness. The FA Cup remains the only hope of silverware for either of these English giants to win this campaign.
