Manchester United superstar Juan Mata has stated that he is extremely excited about facing his former club in the now all-important FA Cup final.

The Red Devils were underdogs against Tottenham Hotspur at Wembley in their FA Cup semi-final tie against the North London giants, the visitors lost the earlier league fixture 2-0 and also suffered an initial setback on Saturday when Dele Alli gave Spurs the lead just after 10 minutes into the game. However, January transfer Alexis Sanchez equalized for Jose Mourinho’s side just before the interval, with what was his fourth goal for the club since the winter move from Arsenal. But former Chelsea star Juan Mata has warned the team.

Spanish midfield man Ander Herrera then ensured that Manchester United go through to the final to dump Spurs out of the FA Cup semis and book United’s spot in the final. Chelsea beat Southampton in the second semi-final to set-up a much-anticipated thriller against their fierce nemesis Manchester United. And former Blue Juan Mata, who was an unused substitute against Spurs, sent out a special message for the United faithful after the victory over Tottenham on his personal blog.

“I’ve Been So Lucky”- Mata

Mata, who will be hoping to play a crucial part in the FA Cup final next month took a moment to cherish the supporters and club for what he has achieved so far in his career at England on his One Hour Behind blog, “The semi-final against Tottenham was the best way to complete a positive week because it gives us the opportunity to play for a very special title. I’ve been so lucky to win it twice and I can tell you that it is something different, in a competition with so much history behind, at Wembley…” he posted.

Manchester United were winners of the EFL Cup and the Europa League in Mourinho’s first season in charge of the club and will they will be hoping to bag some silverware when they face their historic rivals Chelsea.

Author’s Take-

I think Mata is a really grounded human being; he usually is very nice, humble and genuine. Although, when United meet Chelsea in the FA Cup final, his boss and the United fans will be hoping Mata is at his brutal best in order to win the trophy.
