Liverpool Talisman Has Fired Shots At Their Fiercest Rivals

Reds Superstar Mohamed Salah has stated that he is keen on helping Liverpool finish second and dethrone Manchester United from their current spot.

Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool currently sits third in the Premier League, four points behind 2nd placed rivals Manchester United. And despite Manchester City clinching the Premier League title a few days ago, the race for the second-best spot is up for grabs with four games left to go in the season.

There are now 3 certainties in life – death, taxes and Salah scoring

If the Red Devils win their remaining four fixtures, they will be assured of their second place finish but Liverpool’s Mohamed Salah has insisted that he will do his best to ensure that he can take his side as far up on the table as possible if there are any slip-ups.

The 25-year-old winger arrived at Merseyside in the summer from Italian club AS Roma and has hit the ground running like no other Liverpool player before. Salah has netted 30 goals already in the Premier League this season and has been the key man for Liverpool in their hunt for glory. Salah is on the verge of breaking records even further if he continues his red-hot goalscoring form in these last few games. And the Egyptian has his sights set on surpassing Jose Mourinho’s side in the coming weeks.

Salah – We Have To Finish Second

In a recent interview with Premier League Productions, Salah spoke of his ambition in aiding Liverpool as much as he can, “I have to carry on, [there are] still some games to go and we have to finish second, we keep fighting for that and I hope we reach [it],”

The rapid Liverpool attacker also added that he knows that a top 4 finish in nearly guaranteed but finishing second would be even better, “For me, it’s better to finish second. I know the first four places play Champions League next year but it’s always better to finish second than third or fourth.”

“If you look back on the history, you have to finish first; you have to win the Premier League. But it’s always better to be [in a higher position] – first, second, third. If you didn’t win it, second is [best],” explained Salah.

Author’s Take-

I think that Salah is just trying to issue an imperious statement by stating that Liverpool wants to finish above Manchester United. It is to cut short their dominance, boost confidence and prove that Liverpool wants to be renowned as the most successful club in England. However, I think the Champions League should be their main goal this term.
