Real Madrid rethink their decision of making a £100 million bid for THIS Chelsea star

Real Madrid was ready to bid £100m for Eden Hazard but is now showing reluctance on going through with it

Real Madrid is reconsidering the move to get their major target in the summer transfer, Chelsea’s star Eden Hazard after a recent loss of form for the Belgian.

Hazard has been ticked off as a transfer target at the Bernabeu for the past few seasons, but they were expected to show a keen interest in him this year as a replacement of Karim Benzema. However, the recent report by the Evening Standard suggests that the La Liga giants are yet to make any form of inquiry to Chelsea or the Belgium star’s entourage and doesn’t seem in any hurry to do so.

Real Madrid is looking for a makeover of the side after an underwhelming performance in this season’s La Liga. They seem to have a list of good and young stars who can bring glory to the club again. Chelsea, on the other hand, is reluctant to sell their 27-year-old star after a dip in form and will demand a transfer fee well in excess of £100million for his signature.

Therefore, Real Madrid may look for other options and can invest in younger talents such as Marco Asensio. Chelsea still hopes Hazard will extend his contract, which may include a pay-rise from £200,000-a-week to £300,000-a-week but Hazard made it clear last week that he won’t make a decision on his future until after the World Cup in Russia.

“I am going to play the World Cup and then I will leave on holiday. Then we will see what happens next,” he said

“I do not think about it (his future) yet. I have another two years on my contract with Chelsea, where I am very happy.”

It would be interesting to see if he will either encourage an offer from Real Madrid or an even bigger deal from Chelsea.

Author’s Take :

Eden Hazard has been a sensation in recent times and he is not one of those whose rough patch will carry on for long. Both Real Madrid and Chelsea should keep this in mind before making any move. It would be interesting to see how he performs in the World Cup for Belgium who are considered to be the dark horse this time. His performance may shape his future.
